Thomas Stallworth discusses the Detroit Promise on Comcast Newsmakers

In 2011, Governor Rick Snyder announced his intention to provide Detroit high school graduates with a tuition-free path to an associate degree or technical certificate. As of 2014, The Detroit Regional Chamber has been pleased to administer the Detroit Scholarship Fund--now The Detroit College Promise--to fulfill the Governor's pledge. As a state legislator Thomas helped to develop and promote the Promise, work that laid the foundation for its evolution to include other programs such as Detroit Drives Degrees and the Detroit Drives Degrees Community College Collaborative.
